Problem
Attridge Scaffolding, needed a road transportable, stable floating access to install a hanging scaffold beneath the Doncaster Rail Bridge.
Solution
We designed a custom 8m x 2.4m ScaffFloat with 60hp outboard that could be transported on a rigid lorry and lifted in with its HIAB.
Attridge, then installed a scaffold tower to allow easy access to the underside of the bridge.
Following the installation of the hanging scaffolding, the handrails and engine were removed from the pontoon before it was lifted by HIAB onto a truck and transported back to Attridge’s yard for the duration of the contracted work on the bridge.
On completion of the work, Attridge brought the pontoon back to the work site before we carried out a partial remobilisation and supported the removal of the bridge scaffolding.
We reduced the overall cost of this project significantly by making it easily transportable.
