Once its mission is complete, MilFloat can be quickly recovered and returned to stock, ready for future challenges.

  • Payloads: Capable of carrying substantial loads, with capacities up to 30 tonnes on a single pontoon.
  • Fully Certified: Our systems are comprehensively certified and approved, ensuring reliability and compliance for critical missions.
  • Amphibious & Shallow Water Access: Featuring built-in launch wheels, MilFloat can be launched and recovered directly from beaches or slipways. With an incredibly low draft of just 0.2m, it is ideally suited for operations in shallow, flooded, or restricted areas.
  • Self-Propelled Power: Configurable with propulsion systems up to 300hp, achieving speeds of up to 6 knots.
  • Transport: Every component is road transportable and breaks down to fit neatly within a standard shipping container or onto any trailer or vehicle, simplifying logistics globally. If needed the longest component can be reduced to 2m, making it transportable by air on a HCU-6/E or 463L Master Pallet.
  • Lightweight Design: Weighing in at only 100kg per m², the system maintains high performance without unnecessary bulk.
  • Enhanced Survivability: Our foam-filled floats maintain buoyancy even under direct fire, ensuring operational continuity in hostile environments.
  • Optional Extras: Customise your MFS with a range of specialised additions, including deck cranes, ballistic panels, gun bases, advanced navigation systems, landing ramps, and anchor handling capabilities.

Our multi-role floating systems have been deployed in diverse and challenging scenarios, demonstrating their adaptability and reliability:

HMS Iron Duke & St Albans – Inclination Test – Falmouth

 APCL A&P Falmouth Docks needed a stable platform for surveyors to conduct inclination tests on two Naval Frigates. This required good access to the load line markings on the hull to the waterline.

HMS Prince of Wales & Queen Elizabeth – Hull Painting – Portsmouth

A project providing painters with access under the Navy’s two flagship aircraft carriers, as their bow’s overhangs prevent the use of other access systems.

HMNB Devonport – Thanckes Oil Fuel Jetty

Volker Stevin were asked to build a new fuel jetty in Plymouth, and demolish the old one. This brought unique floating access requirements and challenges.

DVD – UTAC Milbrook – Military Event

We mobilised a pontoon for a vehicle manufacturer who were exhibiting one of their vehicles at a defence tradeshow.
