Underside Jetty Access – East Coast, UK

Problem

Cromarty Firth Marine Services required a ScaffFloat to access the underside of a jetty in Harwich to undertake repairs and maintenance.

Solution

ScaffFloat mobilised an 8m x 3m self-propelled ScaffFloat, providing the team with:

– Access: The 8m x 3m first between the jetty piles for access to the piles and the jetty underside

– Diving: A dive platform with 24m2 of deck space, a dive ladder and a water level shelf

– Self-propelled: 2 x 60hp high thrust outboards, making it highly manoeuvrable in tight spaces

– Tough: Made from scaffold, and well fendered, it is happy operating up against abrasive steel piles.

– Whaly Tender: Providing safety support, crew transfers, and access.

– Skipper & Crew: A ScaffFloat skipper and crew, getting the Cromaty team where they need to be so they can focus on the work they need to do. We have provided an 8m x 3m ScaffFloat with twin high thrust outboards to make it manoeuvrable under the tight pile pattern. On the front, we installed a small nose to give access to some hard-to-reach areas.
