Problem
AR Demolition was demolishing an industrial building next to a busy canal in Birmingham. They required a pontoon to provide catchment for any stray material that would otherwise fall into the busy waterway, as well as access to the water facing elevation of the building.
Solution
ScaffFloat mobilised two 8×2.4m pontoons that were connected together on the water and located up against the canal bank immediately adjacent to the building. Bespoke crash barriers were fitted to either end of the pontoon assembly to protect the pontoons in the event of accidental collision vessels passing the site. On completion of the project, our team returned to demobilise the pontoons.
