Problem
Attridge Scaffolding approached us to provide access to contractors working on Chetwynd Bridge in Lichfield. This was the fifth time that we had worked together at this site, but the first time that we also provided our own rescue cover at the start and end of the job.
Solution
We built a 3m x 6m ScaffFloat with mooring winches, safety pack, spud legs, skipper and safety tender. To hold the pontoon in position we connected it to a set of ground anchors via a bridle. They were set upstream and we then used an electric winch onboard the pontoon to hold it in position and also to move it around the spans of the bridge. For the rescue cover we provided a fully trained 2 man crew with a safety boat and all required rescue equipment.
