UXO – Liverpool

PROBLEM
2 Separate UXO dive companies had been contracted on long term contracts to survey and remove potential unexploded ordnance and other debris from the seabed in Liverpool’s Bramley Moore Docks ahead of construction of the new Everton football stadium.
Due to the longer term nature of the job a multicat or large workboat was not cost effective, however, the solution needed to carry several generators, a welfare cabin, full comms room and equipment, air tanks and full dive paraphernalia.
An easily manoeuvred solution was essential as the clients wished to operate the vessel themselves and a water level dive platform was essential for access to and from the water.

SOLUTION
2x 16m x 6.5m Scafffloats were quickly mobilised on site offering full load carrying capability for all equipment. The ScaffFloats offered twin engine capability and bow thruster for easy handling along with dive platform and dive ladders as requested. Precise anchoring capability was provided by the use of 12m heavy duty spud legs which could be lowered as needed.
