ScaffFloat Launches New MilFloat System at DSEI, Bringing Rapidly Deployable Marine Solutions to Defence Sector

ScaffFloat, an innovative marine business based in Cornwall, has expanded its offering with the launch of the MilFloat, a new Multi-role Floating System (MFS) engineered for rapid response and unparalleled adaptability for the military.

Heading to London for the industry-leading global defence show, Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) they will be afloat in front of ExCel with a 16m x 6.4m self propelled MilFloat. Transported on flatbed trailers, this model also fits in a standard 40ft or two 20ft shipping containers, allowing for easy transportation anywhere in the world.

On deck will be a former military CVT FV103 Spartan, demonstrating its payload capacity. The Spartan serves as a powerful visual to show the system’s ability to support heavy vehicles in various operations.

We have successfully challenged conventional industry practices by creating a versatile, modular marine toolkit for the field, said Toby Budd, Founder and Managing Director of ScaffFloat.

MilFloat is more than just a pontoon; it’s a modular system that can be built entirely by hand with minimal training. The system on display with the Spartan is a prime example of its adaptability and our military floats are foam-filled, maintaining buoyancy even under fire, ensuring enhanced survivability.”

ScaffFloats have been a trusted system by a growing list of current customers, including the British Navy, Babcock, BAE Systems, AECOM, and the British Defence and Infrastructure Organisation.

The company’s expansion into a more targeted military offering is already gathering great interest due to the extensive list of operations it can support: such as Wet Gap Crossings, Floating Bridges & Ferries, Disaster & Aid Response, Logistics & Supply, Beach Landing Operations and Naval Port Access & Maintenance. On top of their proven experience in Pontoons, Rafts and Barges and Diving and UXO work.

ScaffFloat will be exhibiting at DSEI at Stand SP334 until Friday, September 12th. If you are a serving member of the military (active or reserve), or work in the public sector you may be eligible for a complimentary pass. Otherwise it is a ticketed event via DSEI.co.uk
