Problem
A private resident in St Mawes, Falmouth, needed a temporary fixed walkway built for the summer season. The walkway needed to provide easy access from their waterside property to the water, even at low tide, for their holiday guests.
Solution
We designed and constructed a bespoke 20-meter-long, 2-meter-wide walkway.
Using existing blockwork as an anchor point, we built a custom scaffold structure that gently sloped down the rocky foreshore. This design allowed guests to walk out to a square platform, which was perfectly positioned for diving into the water at low tide.
We clad the deck and sides of the walkway with new scaffold boards to ensure it not only looked smart but also remained safe and functional.
The entire structure was designed to be temporary and will be professionally dismantled at the end of the summer season.
