Jetty Maintenance – River Tees

Problem

Sub Aqua Diving Service required a pontoon to access the underside of a jetty, on the River Tees, for inspection and routine maintenance.

Solution

We mobilized a self-propelled 8m x 2.4m ScaffFloat with a single 60hp high-thrust outboard. Sub Aqua Diving Service provided a Whaly boat to support the ScaffFloat during its transit from the overnight mooring to the work site, as well as to assist the team on-site.

The dimensions of the ScaffFloat allowed for comfortable access and mobility between the jetty’s supporting piles. Positioning the ScaffFloat was achieved by pushing on with the outboard motor and tying off to the most suitable piles, as needed. A monkey tower was installed to enable the team to access the underside of the jetty as the tide dropped.
