The National Trust Trelissick Estate borders the River Fal in Cornwall. A large oak tree had fallen into the river next to a busy ferry landing stage and was blocking navigation, inshore of the pontoon.
We built an 8m x 4m ScaffFloat pontoon which the ranger and tree surgeon worked from to trim the tree branches before pulling them aboard. We used WorkFloat to manoeuvre the pontoon which had less than 200mm of draft, allowing it to be pushed in hard against the tree in very shallow water.
“A very stable and versatile platform for working from, quick and manoeuvrable but still feels really solid , even when loading larger branches etc. The crane and the winch make it a really useful bit of kit.”
– Neil Stevenson, National Trust Ranger
